I never knew this man but from all I hear about him I wish I had known him! What a true example of Christ, to leave behind such wonderful stories about how he loved the Lord with everything he was.

Bro. Wayne, I feel like I have known you ever since I became acquainted with him and his family back in 1989 at Pigeon Forge, TN at the First Youth Evangelism Conference I ever led. I can echo and say amen to everything you said about Steve. After meeting him the first time at that conference, we continued to minister together at other youth events and as I began to pastor I would always invite him to come and minister to my people. I will always cherish his memory and look forward to seeing him again.

I was privileged to have known Steve during our High School years in Metropolis, Illinois and he invited me and indeed convinced me to attend the every morning gathering called "Christian Fellowship". We were also in Boys Choir together and his talent was certainly God-Given and he Blessed us with it. He truly was a Wonderful Servant and I am pleased he was a part of mine and so MANY lives.

I knew Steve as a little boy. His dad was our song leader and wow, what a voice he had!!! His family, mom, dad, sister, and Steve were the kind of people you never forget!!!! His dad used to pick up my little brother, stand him on top of the piano and he would sing in front of the entire church!!! What wonderful memories.

Wonderful man. He never complained. Just did what He was supposed to do to make His ministries strong. Wore many hats in the music fields at Murdale Baptist Church in Carbondale IL these past many years. Even did extra services, programs within and outside of the church with other churches. Talented man in many ways...music/drama. Used comedy to get him and others thru in hard times. Smoothly led music and those who helped him. Never heard him raise his voice in madness. Always a joy to be around. He was an inspiration in my mission field.

Our Beloved Bro. Wayne, Would you believe I am just NOW seeing this BEAUTIFUL tribute to Our Precious Steve!! Oh Wow, how YOU truly did "KNOW" Steve and his heart's desire!! Steve LOVES YOU SO MUCH and, again, was ALWAYS so excited and honored to be with YOU any chance he could!!! I'm sure YOU will receive "extra stars in your crown" for enduring those JOKES!! What a TEAM you two were!! Thank You, Bro. Wayne!! May GOD continue to BLESS YOU and Precious Robbie as You continue serving HIM! LOVE YOU SO MUCH!
